Best Yarra Valley Ceremony Locations
I do many of my weddings in the Yarra Valley. It’s my home ground. My happy place. Every time I leave I always end up looking up realestate.com to check the latest property prices. I then compare this with my bank balance, cry for a bit, and then proceed to cheer myself up with whisky and pastizzis.
Riverstone Estate
High on my list is Riverstone Estate. I’m a sucker for views. And this one has arguably the best of every wedding venue in Melbourne. You overlook a gorgeous hill which slips into a valley that climbs all the way up to the blue skies of Coldstream. Roll up their driveway and you’ll be praying your date hasn’t been snapped up. I’m not BS-ing you here - I have no steak in this pie. It’s just a top-notch place.
THE FARM
The Farm is a belter – and has arguably the most assured coordinators of any venue in Melbourne (they have walkie talkies for Christ’s sake. Amazing). Plus, you’ve got multiple areas where you can stage your ceremony – from the shed to the lake. Even inside the venue is a lovely, rustic alternative.
Zonzo Estate
Zonzo Estate is always supoib. It’s a rite of passage for every Melbourne celebrant to do a wedding at Zonzo. And for good reason. It does what a good Yarra Valley wedding venue should do – it takes your mind away from the rest of the world. Away from bills, your noisy neighbour, or that dude who cut you off on the Monash. And that windmill blowing gently in the background - gorg.
Acacia Ridge
Quality, quality place: Fast becoming one of my faves. What I dig most about Acacia Ridge is they don’t rest on their laurels. They even built a self-containing mist system which cools you down during the summer months. I had a ceremony earlier in March where it was 48 degrees in the shade, and it came in darn handy. You do have to bring in your own catering, but if you can deal with that, it’s damn near perfect.
Stones of the Yarra Valley
And finally, Stones of the Yarra Valley. A bit like Zonzo Estate, Stones of the Yarra Valley is the place that most of the best Melbourne celebrants pop high on their list. It’s a broad, large, sweeping land with a driveway that makes you feel kingly and homely all at once. Plus, the chapel to the left is as good an indoor spot as you are likely to find.
